The Greater Cincinnati Coalition for
the homeless believes that education is key to ending
homelessness. Unfortunately, too many people still believe
the myths and stereotypes about homelessness, its causes,
and the people who experience it. These myths often
lead people to believe that homeless people are either
beyond help or undeserving of help, and that homelessness
is too large a problem to solve. Through our many educational
programs and materials, we work to eliminate these harmful
myths, and to replace them with understanding and compassion.
Check out GCCH's newest education
program, the
Cincinnati Urban Experience!
It combines service, education, and reflection for college
and high school students to have first-hand learning experiences
with homelessness and poverty.

With the expansion of GCCHs education
programs, we aim to change the attitudes of
students toward the homeless through knowledge
and experiential opportunities. In the long
term, we hope to instill compassion and understanding
towards the homeless which will demonstrate
itself in how these students vote, donate,
volunteer and become active leaders in making
systemic change.
